A Meaningful Holiday Home Tour

Welcome to The Meaningfull Holiday Home Tour! If you are new here and coming over from Alicia at Thrifty and Chic, I’m glad to have you.

As, you scroll you might notice that this post isn’t as lengthy or detailed as I typically make them, and for good reason. I did want to share with you the little holiday touches I sprinkled throughout the kids rooms but more importantly share why the title “meaningful” is actually very accurate in describing my short tour and lack of images.

I could have spent this weekend devoted to this tour. Decking out the kids’ rooms, spending more funds on decorations and greenery. At the end of the week when I realized I was running out of time I had to make a choice. Would my kids value over the top decorations or ME this weekend. Would my health suffer because it would mean skipping my workouts and not devoting the necessary time to cooking healthy meals. Would I be too exhausted come Sunday night for my Momma‘s cookie exchange that I couldn’t actually enjoy my friends and guests. The answer is yes. Yes, that is how a simple little blog post had the potential to steal joy from us on our first Holiday weekend.

So, I decided to cuddle my little munchkins on the couch in front of a movie, stuffing our faces with popcorn and marshmallows. I got a few good workouts in, walked out of the gym feeling like a million bucks. I enjoyed even more rest, cuddles, movies, and hanging Christmas lights with my sweet fam. Then ended the weekend with some much needed merriment and laughter with my fellow Mom friends.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the hustle of the season. We are often missing out on so much. I’ve allowed that to happen for too long. One day my children will need me less and I’ll have plenty of time for this stuff, right now I don’t and that’s okay because it truly is about so much more than that.

If you would like to see more of our Holiday Home, you can see the full tour from last week here.

I hope you enjoy this short and simple tour and will check out all the beautiful inspiration my friends have provided, below. Be sure to head over to Laura's amazing blog next, as she shares her holiday home!
